Call for papers

 



The Organizing Committee of the IX Ibero-American Congress of Science and Technology Indicators, that will take place in Bogotá, Colombia from October 9th to 11th 2013, invites researchers, professionals, professors and individuals to submit proposals for papers related to the 9 thematic panels around which the program of the Congress is structured. These panels seek to widen the discussion on an interdisciplinary approach to some of the key issues in the construction of indicators.

 

The thematic sessions will address the following issues:

 

  • Innovation and competitiveness.
  • Trajectories of researchers and academics.
  • Intellectual capital.
  • Rankings.
  • Assessment of policies, programs and institutions.
  • Social perception and appropriation of science and technology.
  • Scientific production.
  • Social demands: sub-national indicators, new actors, new themes.
  • Information Society.

 

The submitted papers should refer to some of these themes and should be the result of ongoing research projects.

The submitted proposals will be assessed by the Academic Committee of the Congress who, depending on their quality and content, may define which presentations shall be included in each of the panels or which ones could be shown as posters during the time the Congress is held. 

 

Deadline for the submission of proposals is April 30th 2013.

Authors of selected proposals should send their final drafts before August 1st 2013 for their edition and publication in the Congress and in its website. 

 

Requirements for the submission of papers:

 

Candidates are requested to send a proposal of their papers which should include the following items of information:

 

  • Authors' info:
    • Name and last name
      • Institutional affiliation
        • Address
        • Email
          • A brief of your updated CV 
          • Tittle of the presentation
          • Abstract of the presentation (500 words maximum) which should contain:
            • Goals
              • Methodology
                • Conclusions / results
                  • Project to which the paper belongs to and its body funding.

 

Additionally candidates may include up to two tables or graphs that support the abstract approach.
